Getting Started With SSDI

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) is there for those who have a significant work history and are unable to work. Here is a quick checklist of what you will need to get started. Don't worry if you can't find all the information now, but the more you have on hand the easier it will be for us to determine your eligibility.

  • Employment history
  • Your Social Security statement or any statement you received in the mail from SSA
  • Your medical diagnosis
  • Your last day of work
  • Your attempts to return to work
  • General list of restrictions/limitations
  • List of prescriptions/medications
  • Date and information about your most recent denial (if you have already applied and been turned down for SSDI)
  • Whether someone is or has been assisting with your SSD case
  • Veteran status

If you've been denied before, you're not alone. Many people have claimed their rightful benefits on appeal. But we need to know right away because there is a time limit on your appeal!

Having as much of this information now helps, but do not let it hold you up! Contact us as soon as possible or complete this form to the right to get your application started or to pursue an appeal.
